If you are filing with the department of buildings to get a permit for your remodeling or construction job you are going to need to complete ACP5 testing. Even if you know your home office or condo does not contain asbestos, if your job requires a DOB permit then it also requires an asbestos survey.
Our Services
There are two forms of asbestos to look for: friable and non-friable. At GMAC ASBESTOS CONSULTING, we perform the inspection and can complete ACP5 forms that state that no friable ACM is present. The forms will verify this or that the friable-asbestos contained area is less than 10 square feet or less than 25 linear feet. We then file the ACP5 with the DOB and DEP, confirming the project is a non-friable asbestos job.
Bulk Sampling
Bulk Sampling – Using extreme caution, our highly trained and EPA certified technicians will take small samples of the materials in question. These samples are then sent to a lab to test for asbestos containing materials.
ACP5 Reports
ACP5 testing starts with obtaining the building's blueprints or drawing to examine if the building contains asbestos materials. If there is, these materials will need to be sampled if they are going to be disturbed during a renovation or demolition project. A trained inspector will sample these materials and have them analyzed. If no asbestos is found in these samples, an ACP5 will be issued within 24-48 hours. The ACP5 assessment form will be signed and emailed to the client and architect. The forms will verify this or that the friable-asbestos contained area is less than 10 square feet or less than 25 linear feet. We then file the ACP5 with the DOB and DEP, confirming the project is a non-friable asbestos job.
